Local content is a national agenda that contributes to enhancing the Kingdom's sustainable growth. It is driven by the participation of various economic segments, including individuals, the public sector, and the private sector.
According to the Local Content and Government Procurement Authority Regulation, issued by the Council of Ministers Resolution No. (551) dated 15/09/1442H, local content is defined as: “The total spending in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia through the participation of Saudi elements in the workforce, goods, services, assets, technologies, and the like".
Simply put, local content aims to retain the highest possible proportion of procurement spending within the Kingdom by the targeted groups—whether public entities, private organizations, or individuals.
